This one features noodles, a sponge, and a piece of driftwood - which has drifted all the way inland to a pavement in Bromley, Kent.
I love the way you have the driftwood held on high like that - suggests the power of the sea!
Also love the umbrella jelly fish!
And all the other strange inhabitants... doodle fish and the sort of brin on pink legs...
Fun one!
this is such a charming illo, so many interesting components! love it!!!
wonderful, with the driftwood tettering on the wave. And all the other little fishy treats.
Think we all feel like the driftwood at times! I like how the under water light has been filled and your use of found objects is always a favourite!
Love your hybrid art. How did you make this one?
Never heard of a brin Caroline, either on pink legs or any other type of legs!
thanks valgalart - it was touch and go whether I've overdone the different elements or not. This is probably keeping it simple for me.
Kim, now you mention fishy treats, I'm feeling as peckish as a cormorant who hasn't sighted a mackerel in 24 hours.
Yes Anon, I certainly identify most with the driftwood - either that or the noodles! I would love to have the artistry to make more of found objects - with Kurt Schwitters in mind. As long as the things don't object to being found.
Hi Steve - thanks for digging the hybrid. It started with a biro drawing, then the wood was directly scanned in, followed by noodle, loofah & sponge textures - all placed on the scanner (can't always close the lid!), & the fish is an old doodle cunningly inserted into the picture. The colouring is basic Photoshop manouveres - using the Difference option on Angle Gradient. All part of my long learning process.
This is a great image, I like the mix of approaches and the sea effect. The wood on the waves is a neat touch. Like your style.
When I say brin I of course mean brain... as any fool know... ;-)
thankyou modroom. just had a peek at your Go Hat Go, and I be liking your style too. Will have more of a look tomorrow!
Caroline I is no fool, I is brain on legs! Now you've inadvertenly invented a creature by the name of a brin, there's no putting it back in the box - in my mind it exits.
