The Greener Side

This is about the craziest picture I've got myself into yet! The title was suggested to me by fellow blogger Jason (Strange Ways), and this concept was on the side of my mind, until suddenly this week Illustration Friday's theme is FRESH. treasure trailSalad courtesy of Sainsburies supermarket - shoppers perhaps wondered why I was sorting through the savoy cabbages for so long, admiring their different greenesses. No lettuces were harmed in the making of this picture.

WOW Johnny Norms, I really like this! Salad looks extra fresh and crisp close up! This must be because the dry desert shows off the extra fresh greenery on the other side of the fence. Poor Johnny - always greener on the other side? Well done!!!

Very original! Funny and I'm surprised how well the two completely different sides come together.

Thanks everyone for the positive comments - makes chasing after linseed and tussling with curly kale at midnight+ seem worth it!

The sensualist - just been browsing your enchanting journal, new to me - left a comment on Little,Big. I stuck the seed with prittstick, but the salad was arranged on the scanner - no sticking! I used a large tome to weigh it all down (the collected Little Nemo - often comes in handy for this!)

Thanks Jason, and ta for planting the seed of the idea in my thoughts.

I know what you mean Dave - an alternative version of this would have a load of crisps, sausages, chocolate, etc on the desert side. (Not to mention what's on the dessert side!)

This is very fresh and creative! I love the mixture of elements; it creates a fanciful and surrealistic quality to this! It's really wonderful:>

Thanks Emily, Carla & Julie. All the greenery is being consumed Julie - maybe I should do more salad-art for a healthier life!
