Jazz
I couldn't believe my luck - the Illustration Friday theme this week is Jazz! So here's my first attempt, and I may be back with a development. Dedicated to my favourite jazz musicians - Ornette, Sun Ra, Monk, Miles, Coltrane, Don Cherry, Mingus, Roland Kirk, Django Reinhardt, Duke Ellington, and strangely enough, The Ganelin Trio (they're Russian).

PS Blimey you've been busy since the weekend.
I really like it on the black background
nice!
nice groove!
It's great! I like the black background too.
You've had fun with this haven't you. The colours are good. It might have been fun to have added musical notation as well somewhere - but what the heck. Like Kerry above, I like the way the instruments are dancing.

Hello Mysterioso of Hove,
You don't happen to know a certain Clive who lives there do you? Yes, I've already drawn some groovy music notation - will be experimenting. In fact I think this is the start of a whole string of ideas - hooray!
everything is dancing in there :D nice!
Although Sun Ra is no longer with us, the Arkestra still appear to be active.
I saw the Sun Ra Arkestra perform with DJ Spooky during Lee Scratch Perry's Meltdown festival a couple of yeras ago.
I also wandered into the Arkestra's jam session with the remaining members of the MC5 and David Thomas at the RFH last Friday evening. The jams were being well and truly kicked out. Very impressive.
